Scenario Workforce Planning
The project seeks to examine the impacts of the pandemic on the local workforce and how the labour market will change in the next 12-24 months. It will also identify new practices, programs, and other interventions that will need to be put into place in order to address these impacts. Although the pandemic has touched many aspects of our everyday lives, the project looks at it through a workforce development lens. Through stakeholder and public engagement activities, the workforce planning boards will use an eight-step scenario planning process. This will identify specific actions and initiatives that employment and training services, government, education, and community leaders can start implementing in the short-term to bridge the skills gaps that emerge in each of the identified scenarios.
