Municipalities continue to subsidize the provincial treasury by almost $4 billion each year by paying for provincial responsibilities such as social housing, long-term care, public health, childcare and social services. Ontario’s property taxes are already the second highest in the country, while provincial spending per capita is the lowest in Canada.

Warden Glen McNeil Re-elected as WOWC Chair for 2024 Term 

Warden Glen McNeil of Huron has been re-elected as Chair of the Western Ontario Wardens’ Caucus (WOWC) at the organization’s Annual General Meeting in Goderich. Warden Andy Lennox was appointed as Vice-Chair, while Meighan Wark was appointed as Secretary and Sonya Pritchard as Treasurer.
